    • J 36190 Drive Handle
    • J 36504 Output Shaft Oil Seal Installer
    • J 36511 Oil Plug Hex Bit (17 mm)

    Object Number: 144200  Size: SH
  1. Use the J 36190 in order to install the rear housing shift shaft bushing into the rear housing.
  2. 1.1. Install the bushing into the bore so that the writing on the bushing lip faces toward the housing.
    1.2. Install the bushing flush.

  3. Install the shift shaft support and the snap ring into the rear housing.
  4. Apply petroleum jelly between the lips of the seal.

  5. Object Number: 144201  Size: SH
  6. Use the J 36504 in order to install the slip yoke oil seal.
  7. Apply pipe sealant to the threads of the oil drain plug.

  8. Object Number: 144195  Size: SH
  9. Use the J 36511 in order to install the oil drain plug.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the oil drain plug to 37 N·m (27 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
