Removal Procedure

    Notice: Use care when handling the coolant sensor. Damage to the coolant sensor will affect the operation of the fuel control system.

  1. Relieve the coolant system pressure.
  2. Turn OFF the ignition.

  3. Object Number: 204032  Size: SH
  4. Remove the ECT sensor electrical connector.

  5. Object Number: 204027  Size: SH
  6. Remove the ECT sensor.

Installation Procedure

  1. Only coat the threads with sealer.

  2. Object Number: 204027  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the ECT sensor.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the sensor to 25 N·m (18.5 lb ft).

  5. Install the electrical connector.
  6. Refill the lost coolant. Refer to Loss of Coolant in Engine Cooling.
