Removal Procedure

Notice: Allowing the drive belt tensioner to snap into the free position may result in damage to the tensioner.

  1. From under the vehicle, remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  2. Remove the drive belt tensioner assembly bolt.
  3. Remove the drive belt tensioner assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 175488  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. From under the vehicle, install the drive belt tensioner assembly and bolt to the engine.
  2. Ensure that the pin on the tensioner fits into the locating hole on the engine front cover.

    Tighten
    Tighten the drive belt tensioner bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  3. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
