Removal Procedure

  1. Lift the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.

  3. Object Number: 407789  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve harness connector.

  5. Object Number: 407794  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the purge pipe from the EVAP canister purge valve.

  7. Object Number: 407798  Size: SH
  8. Remove the purge valve nut and the purge valve mounting bracket.
  9. Remove the purge valve from the purge valve mounting bracket.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install purge valve on to the purge valve mounting bracket.

  2. Object Number: 10860  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the purge valve mounting bracket and the attaching nut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the purge valve mounting bracket attaching nut to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  5. Slide the purge valve bracket on to the mounting stud.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the purge valve mounting nut to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  7. Connect the purge pipe to the EVAP canister purge valve.

  8. Object Number: 407789  Size: SH
  9. Connect the EVAP canister purge valve harness connector.
  10. Reinstall right front wheel and tire assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  11. Lower vehicle.
