Removal Procedure

  1. Remove all foreign material from around the spark plug holes.
  2. Remove the spark plug wires. Refer to Spark Plug Wire Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 193473  Size: SH
  4. Remove the spark plugs using a spark plug socket.

Installation Procedure

    Important:  While gapping the spark plugs be sure to keep the platinum pads aligned to ensure maximum spark plug life.

  1. Using a round wire type spark plug gap gage, inspect the spark plug gap and adjust as necessary. Refer to Ignition System Specifications .

  2. Object Number: 193473  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the spark plugs using the spark plug socket.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the spark plugs to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).

  5. Apply dielectric lubricant to the inside of the spark plug wire insulator boots.
  6. Reinstall the spark plug wires. Refer to Spark Plug Wire Replacement .
