Removal Procedure
Notice: Do not attempt to straighten any kinked nylon fuel lines.
Replace any kinked nylon fuel feed or return pipes in order to prevent damage
to the vehicle.
- Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to
Fuel Pressure Relief
.
- Raise the vehicle. Refer to
Caution: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a
hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.

- Disconnect the fuel feed pipe from the fuel filter/regulator assembly.

- Remove the transmission.
- Disconnect the fuel feed pipe from the fuel composition sensor
(FCS) assembly. Refer to
Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
.
- Remove the fuel pipe assembly.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Do not attempt to straighten any kinked nylon fuel lines.
Replace any kinked nylon fuel feed or return pipes in order to prevent damage
to the vehicle.
Notice: Always re-attach the fuel lines and fuel filter with all original type
fasteners and hardware.
Do not repair sections of fuel pipes.
- Install the fuel pipe assembly.
- Connect the fuel feed pipe to the fuel composition sensor assembly.

- Connect the fuel feed pipe to the fuel filter/regulator assembly.

- Install the transmission.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Inspect for fuel leaks through the following steps:
6.1. | Turn ON the ignition for 2 seconds. |
6.2. | Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds. |
6.3. | Turn ON the ignition. |
6.4. | Inspect for fuel leaks. |
