Removal Procedure
Important: Do not attempt to reinstall the original cellular antenna exterior base
or interior coupling using any type of glue, adhesive tapes, etc. Doing so
may eliminate the cellular signal transfer though the glass and reduce the
maximum performance of the system that includes air bag deployment notification.
- Remove the cellular antenna
coupling box (2) from the glass (4) by grasping the bottom
of the coupling box (2) and pulling it away from the glass (4)
while inside the vehicle.
- Disconnect the coaxial cable from the cellular coupling box.
- Remove the cellular antenna mast (1) by grasping
the bottom of the antenna mast (1) and pulling it away from the glass (4)
while outside the vehicle.
- Remove all adhesive residue, on both the outside and inside of
the glass, by using a razor blade and isopropyl alcohol.
Installation Procedure
- Locate the cellular antenna
mast and cellular antenna coupling box mounting location on the glass.
Important: Dirt, oil, and other contaminants can impede adhesion. Thoroughly clean
the area using isopropyl alcohol. To obtain maximum adhesion, the base, coupling,
and glass must be kept dry and above 15°C (60°F) during the installation
and for the 24 hours immediately following the installation.
- Clean the interior and exterior of the glass at the cellular antenna
mast and cellular antenna coupling box (4) target area.
Important: Failure to mount the cellular antenna in the specified location will
result in severe cellular phone and vehicle audio performance degradation.
- From inside the vehicle, mount the cellular antenna coupling box onto
the glass with the connector facing towards the rear of the vehicle. Apply
even and constant pressure for 30 seconds. The mounting location for the
coupling box (4) is at the rear passenger side window, below the black masking
(3) and 51 mm (2 in) (A) forward of the D-pillar (2).
- From outside the vehicle,
mount the cellular antenna mast (1) directly over the cellular antenna coupling
box (2).
- Connect the coaxial cable to the cellular coupling box.
