The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.
Condition/Concern:
The RKE system is inoperative or the RKE module is missing.
Recommendation/Instructions:
When the VIN is entered into GM Vehicle Inquiry System (VIS), The RPO code ZQ6 may show the vehicle as having Remote Keyless Entry. The RPO code ZQ6 alone does not mean this vehicle will have Remote Keyless Entry. If the vehicle has Remote Keyless Entry, the RPO list will also have AUO listed. Refer to the Product Portfolio/Sales Guide for a complete listing of options and what is included in each equipment group.

Please follow this diagnosis process throughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
