INFO. ON CRANK POSITION SENSOR INSTALLATION

SUBJECT: INFORMATION ON CRANK POSITION SENSOR INSTALLATION

MODELS: 1995 CHEVROLET AND GMC TRUCK S/T TRUCKS WITH 4.3L ENGINE (VIN W - RPO L35)

THE CRANK POSITION SENSOR MUST BE **FULLY SEATED** AND HELD PRIOR TO TIGHTENING THE HOLD DOWN BRACKET BOLT (SEE FIGURE 1). TORQUE THE HOLD DOWN BRACKET BOLT TO 8 - 9 N.M (5.9 - 6.6 LBS. FT.). **USE HAND TOOLS ONLY--DO NOT EXCEED THE TORQUE SPECIFICATION.**

A SENSOR WHICH IS COCKED AND/OR LOOSE IN THE FRONT COVER BORE MAY CAUSE THE HOLDING BRACKET TO BEND AND/OR LEAD TO SETTING THE FOLLOWING DTCS:

NOTE: MISFIRE DETECTION MAY ONLY OCCUR ABOVE 2400 ENGINE RPM IN THIS INSTANCE.

IF THESE CODES ARE DETECTED, CHECK THE CRANK POSITION SENSOR FOR PROPER SEATING.
