Removal Procedure

  1. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief

  2. Object Number: 63353  Size: SH
  3. Remove the fuel filter quick-connect fitting. Refer to Servicing Quick Connect Fittings (Metal Collar) .
  4. Remove the fuel filter nut.

  5. Object Number: 17412  Size: SH
  6. Remove the clamp bolt.
  7. Remove the filter and the clamp from the fuel lines.

  8. Object Number: 17413  Size: SH
  9. Remove the clamp from the filter.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 17413  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the clamp to filter.

  2. Object Number: 17412  Size: SH
  3. Install the filter and clamp to the fuel lines.
  4. Install the clamp bolt.

  5. Object Number: 63353  Size: SH
  6. Install the fuel filter nut.
  7. Install the fuel filter quick-connect fitting. Refer toServicing Quick Connect Fittings (Metal Collar) .
  8. Inspect for fuel leaks through the following steps:
  9. 6.1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position for two seconds
    6.2. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position for ten seconds.
    6.3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position
    6.4. Check for fuel leaks.
