  1. Remove the inoperative bulb.
  2. Inspect the bulb.

Is the bulb open?

  1. Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) between the LT GRN wire at the lamp socket and ground.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Place the transmission in the REVERSE position.

Does the J 39200 DMM display the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

Locate and repair the open in the CKT 1324 (LT GRN).

Is the repair complete?

Connect the J 39200 DMM between the LT GRN wire at the lamp socket and the BLK wire at the lamp socket.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 10

Inspect the lamp socket for damaged or corroded terminals.

Are the lamp socket terminals damaged or corroded?

Go to Step 8

Repair or replace the lamp socket as needed.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the bulb.

Locate and repair the open in CKT 1750 (BLK) or CKT 2250 or a corroded ground contact.

Locate and repair the open in the CKT 1324 (LT GRN).

Connect the J 39200 DMM between the LT GRN wire at the lamp socket and the BLK wire at the lamp socket.
