  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the speaker connector.
  3. Use a J 39200 DMM in order to measure resistance of the speaker.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

4-15 ohms

Go to Step 3

Use a J 39200 DMM in order to measure the resistance at the speaker connector from terminal A to ground.

Does the resistance equal the specified value?

Infinite

Go to Step 4

Use a J 39200 DMM in order to measure resistance at the speaker connector from terminal B to ground.

Does the resistance equal the specified value?

Infinite

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 8

  1. Reconnect the speaker connector.
  2. Use a J 39200 DMM in order to measure the resistance at the radio connector for the speaker feed circuits.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

4-15 ohms

Go to Step 9

Replace the speaker.
