Was the system check performed?

1. Determine if the vehicle is equipped with an optional remote audio player.

A remote audio player is either a CD player or a cassette player.

2. Determine if only the remote audio player illumination is inoperative.

Is the remote audio player illumination inoperative?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 3

1. For Bravada only, disconnect the radio connector.
2. For Chevrolet/GMC only, disconnect connector C2.
3. Turn the headlamp switch to the PARK position.
4. Turn the instrument panel dimmer switch to a mid-range position.
5. For Bravada only, connect a test lamp from CKT 1220 (GRY) at radio connector cavity F4.
6. For Chevrolet/GMC only, connect a test lamp from connector C2 cavity 7 to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 7

1. Disconnect the remote audio player.
2. Turn the headlamp switch to the PARK position.
3. Turn the instrument panel dimmer switch to a mid-range position.
4. Connect a test lamp from the remote audio player connector cavity 8 to cavity 13.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 5

1. Disconnect the radio connector C3.
2. Connect a test lamp from the remote audio player connector cavity 8 to the radio connector C3 cavity 8 for CKT 1220 (GRY).

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 9

1. Remove the radio.
2. Send the radio in for repair.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Radio/Audio System Check

--

1. Locate an open in CKT 1220 (GRY) between the radio and S205.
2. Repair an open in CKT 1220 (GRY) between the radio and S205.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Radio/Audio System Check

--

1. Remove the remote audio player.
2. Send in the remote audio player for repair.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the open in CKT 1220 (GRY) between the radio and the remote audio player.
