Did you perform the RAP System Check?

Go to Step 2

Go to Retained Accessory Power (RAP) System Check

  1. Connect the scan tool.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Do not start the engine.

  4. Perform the BCM system check. Refer to Diagnostic System Check - Body Control System in Body Control System.

Does the scan tool display any current DTC(s)?

Go to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List/Type in Body Control System

Go to Step 3

  1. Select Data Display (INPUT 1) on the scan tool.
  2. Use the scan tool in order to monitor the driver and the passenger door jamb switches.
  3. Open and close each door.

Do the inputs toggle from ACTIVE to INACTIVE?

Go to Step 4

Go to Headlight System Check in Lighting Systems

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Use the scan tool in order to monitor Ignition 1 input.

Does the scan tool display the specified value?

INACTIVE

Go to Step 5

Remove the RAP relay.

Do the radio and power windows still operate?

Repair the short to voltage in CKT 75.

Is the repair complete?

--

  1. Disconnect the BCM connector C1.
  2. Use the appropriate probe from the J 35616-A for the next step.
  3. Use a J 39200 DMM in order to measure the voltage at CKT 39 (PNK) cavity B2 to a good ground.

Does the J 39200 DMM display battery voltage?

Repair a short to battery on CKT 39 (PNK).

Is the repair complete?

--

  1. Replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.
  2. Program the BCM with the proper calibrations. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Body Control System.
  3. Perform the learn procedure.

Is the repair complete?
