Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the hood. Support the hood.

  2. Object Number: 1558  Size: SH
  3. Remove the cable from the latch assembly:
  4. 2.1. Use a flat-bladed tool in order to release the clip.
    2.2. Lift the cable assembly from the primary latch.
  5. Mark the bolt to the mounting bracket positions.

  6. Object Number: 1565  Size: SH
  7. Remove the bolts that retain the mounting bracket to the latch.
  8. Remove the latch from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1565  Size: SH
  1. Install the latch to the vehicle.
  2. Use the marks in order to align the latch.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolts that retain the mounting bracket to the latch.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the cable to the latch assembly.
