Engine Mount Replacement Right

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 303008  Size: SH

    Notice: Broken engine mountings can cause misalignment of certain drive-train components. Misalignment of drive-train components causes eventual destruction of the drive-train components.

    If one engine mount breaks, the rest of the engine mounts will have increased stress put on them. This could cause the rest of the engine mounts to break.

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the right fender wheelhouse extension.

  4. Remove the right side transmission support brace, if equipped.

  5. Object Number: 43037  Size: SH
  6. Working through the wheelhouse, remove the generator rear brace from the engine.
  7. • Remove the nuts holding the brace to the intake studs and the stud on the engine.
    • Remove the bolt holding the brace to the rear of the generator.
  8. Lower the vehicle.

  10. Install a suitable engine lifting device to the eyelet on the accessory mounting bracket.
  11. Raise the engine only enough to remove the weight from the engine mount.
  12. Remove the engine mount through-bolt.

  13. Object Number: 1139  Size: SH
  14. Remove the stud and the two bolts holding the engine mount to the engine.
  15. Remove the engine mount.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1139  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the engine mount, the stud and the two bolts.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount stud and bolts to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).

  3. Install the engine mount through-bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount through-bolt to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).

  5. Remove the engine lifting device.

  6. Object Number: 43037  Size: SH
  7. Raise the vehicle.
  8. Working through the wheelhouse, install the generator rear brace.
  9. Install the nuts holding the brace to the intake stud and the stud on the engine.
  10. Install the bolt holding the brace to the rear of the generator.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the generator rear brace nuts and bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  12. Install the transmission support brace.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the transmission support bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  14. Install the right fender wheelhouse extension.
  15. Lower the vehicle.

Engine Mount Replacement Left

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 33772  Size: SH

    Notice: Broken engine mountings can cause misalignment of certain drive-train components. Misalignment of drive-train components causes eventual destruction of the drive-train components.

    If one engine mount breaks, the rest of the engine mounts will have increased stress put on them. This could cause the rest of the engine mounts to break.

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Remove the left side transmission support brace.
  4. Remove the starter. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement in Engine Electrical.

  6. Remove the bolt holding the battery positive cable to the engine.
  7. Remove the battery positive cable from the engine mount.
  8. Lower the vehicle.

  10. Remove the bolt and the engine mount shield.

  11. Object Number: 2491  Size: SH
  12. Install a suitable engine lifting device to the eyelet on the accessory mounting bracket.
  13. Raise the engine only enough to remove the weight from the engine mount.
  14. Remove the engine mount through-bolt.

  15. Object Number: 1140  Size: SH
  16. Remove the bolts holding the engine mount to the engine and the starter support.
  17. Remove the engine mount.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1140  Size: SH
  1. Install the engine mount.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure.   3. Install the stud, two bolts, and the starter support.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount stud and bolts to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).

  5. Install the engine mount through-bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount through-bolt to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).

  7. Remove the engine lifting device.

  8. Object Number: 382113  Size: SH
  9. Install the engine mount shield and the bolt.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the shield bolt to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

  11. Raise the vehicle.
  12. Install the battery positive cable through the engine mount.
  13. Install the bolt holding the battery positive cable to the engine.
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  15. Install the starter. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement in Engine Electrical.

  16. Object Number: 33772  Size: SH
  17. Install the left side transmission support brace and bolts.
  18. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  19. Lower the vehicle.
  20. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Replacement in Engine Electrical.
