Air Conditioning (A/C) Refrigerant Pressure Sensor Replacement 2.2L

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 424316 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector.

  2. Object Number: 424777 Size: SH
  3. Remove the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor from the evaporator tube.
  4. Remove and discard the O-ring seal from the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor port on the evaporator tube.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 424777 Size: SH
  1. Using a lint-free clean, dry cloth, carefully clean the sealing surfaces of the refrigerant pressure sensor port on the evaporator tube.
  2. Lightly coat the new O-ring seal with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
  3. Important: DO NOT allow any of the mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil on the O-ring seal to enter the refrigerant system.

  4. Slide the new O-ring seal onto the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor port on the evaporator tube front until the unit is fully seated.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor to the evaporator tube.
  7. Tighten
Tighten the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor to 4.8 N·m (42 lb in).

    Object Number: 424316 Size: SH
  8. Connect the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector.
  9. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A .
