Rear Wheel Opening Flare Replacement All Except XTREME

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 303022  Size: SH
  1. Remove the wheel house panel access plugs.
  2. Remove the nuts that retain the panel to the flare.
  3. Remove the screws that retain the flare to the panel.
  4. Remove the flare from the panel.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 303022  Size: SH
  1. Install the flare to the panel.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the screws that retain the flare to the panel.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws that retain the flare to the panel to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).

  5. Install the wheel house panel access plugs.

Rear Wheel Opening Flare Replacement XTREME

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 524817  Size: SH
  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the screws that retain the rear wheel flare to the vehicle.
  3. Cut the 2-way adhesive that retains the wheel flare to the rear fender.
  4. Remove the rear wheel flare from the fender.
  5. Remove the 2-way adhesive from the wheel flare.

Installation Procedure

  1. Clean the surface of the wheel flare and the fender.
  2. Apply the 2-way adhesive to the wheel flare.
  3. Install the wheel flare to the vehicle fender.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.   5. Install the screws that retain the rear wheel flare to the vehicle.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).

  7. Lower the vehicle.
