J 42450-A Wheel Hub Resurfacing Kit

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Brake Dust Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 748566  Size: SH

    Notice: Support the caliper with a piece of wire to prevent damage to the brake line.

    Important: Do not disconnect the brake hose from the caliper.

  1. Remove the brake caliper.

  2. Object Number: 799895  Size: SH
  3. Remove the brake pads. Refer to Rear Disc Brake Pads Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 748570  Size: SH
  5. Remove the brake caliper mount. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement .

  6. Object Number: 357057  Size: SH
  7. Remove and dispose of the sheet metal rotor retainers.

  8. Object Number: 357011  Size: SH
  9. Remove the brake rotor.
  10. Inspect the brake rotor. Refer to Brake Rotor Surface and Wear Inspection .
  11. Refinish the brake rotor if necessary. Refer to Brake Rotor Refinishing .

Installation Procedure

Caution: Do not move the vehicle until a firm brake pedal is obtained. Failure to obtain a firm pedal before moving vehicle may result in personal injury.

Notice: Whenever the rotor has been separated from the axle flange, clean any rust or foreign material from the mating surface of the axle flange and brake rotor. Failure to do this may result in increased lateral runout of the rotor and brake pulsation.

  1. Using the J 42450-A , clean the axle flange.

  2. Object Number: 357011  Size: SH
  3. Install the brake rotor.

  4. Object Number: 748570  Size: SH
  5. Install the brake caliper mount. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement .

  6. Object Number: 799895  Size: SH
  7. Install the brake pads. Refer to Rear Disc Brake Pads Replacement .

  8. Object Number: 748566  Size: SH
  9. Install the brake caliper. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement .
  10. Burnish replaced or refinished rotors. Refer to Brake Pad and Rotor Burnishing .
