Rocker Panel Retaining Plate Replacement XTREME

Tools Required

J 34940 Rivet Gun

1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
2. Remove the rocker molding.
3. Drill out the rivets using a ¼ inch drill bit.
4. Clean the anti-corrosion chemical using a suitable degreaser.

1. Apply rust inhibitor to the plate and body mating surfaces.
2. Install ¼ inch rivets using the J 34940 .
3. Install the rocker molding.
4. Lower the vehicle.

Rocker Panel Retaining Plate Replacement Blazer

Tools Required

J 34940 Rivet Gun

1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
2. Remove the front fender lower cladding.
3. Remove the rocker panel molding. Refer to Rocker Panel Molding Replacement .
4. Drill out the rivets using a ¼ inch drill bit.
5. Remove the retaining plate.

1. Apply rust inhibitor to the plate and the body mating surfaces Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair .
2. Install the retaining plate to the body with rivets using the J 34940 .
3. Install the lower rocker molding. Refer to Rocker Panel Molding Replacement
4. Install the front fender lower cladding.
5. Lower the vehicle.

Rocker Panel Retaining Plate Replacement P/U Box - XTREME

Tools Required

J 34940 Rivet Gun

1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
2. Remove the rocker cladding from the front lower pickup box. Refer to Rocker Panel Molding Replacement .
3. Drill out the rivets using a ¼ inch drill bit.
4. Clean the anti-corrosion chemical using a suitable degreaser.

1. Apply rust inhibitor to the plate and body mating surfaces Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair .
2. Install ¼ inch rivets using theJ 34940 .
3. Install the rocker cladding to the front lower pickup box. Refer to Cladding Replacement - Rear Lower P/U Box .
4. Lower the vehicle.
