Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.

    2. Object Number: 1776972 Size: SH
  2. Remove the trailing arm bracket to body bolts.

    3. Object Number: 1768901 Size: SH
  3. If applicable, remove the antilock brake system (ABS) brake harness from the upper control arm.
  4. Remove the upper control arm to knuckle nut and bolt.

    5. Object Number: 1768919 Size: SH
  5. Remove the upper control arm to support frame bolt and cam nut.
  6. Remove the upper control arm.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1768915 Size: SH
  1. Install the upper control arm to the knuckle.

    2. Important: Do not tighten the nut or the bolt yet.

  2. Loosely install the upper control arm to knuckle nut and bolt.

    3. Object Number: 1768919 Size: SH

    Important: Do not tighten the bolt or the nut yet.

  3. Install the upper control arm to support frame bolt and cam nut.

    4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Tighten the upper control arm to knuckle nut and bolt.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the nut and bolt to 160 N·m (118 lb ft).

  5. If applicable, install the ABS harness to the upper control arm.
  6. Push the trailing arm upward in order to align the front bracket to body bolt.
  7. Use a drift in order to aid in bracket alignment.
  8. Install the bracket to body bolts.

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the trailing arm bracket to body bolts to 110 N·m (81 lb ft).

  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Measure and adjust the wheel alignment. Refer to Wheel Alignment Measurement.
  11. Tighten the upper control arm to support frame bolt.

    12. Tighten
    Tighten the upper control arm to support frame bolt to 160 N·m (118 lb ft).
