6.6L LB7 Fuel Pressure Regulator Wiring Connector or Terminal Repairs - kw surge wire harness pump diesel intermittent driveability GMT800 GMT560 P0088 P0089

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.

A dealer may need to make a repair to the fuel pressure regulator connector or terminals. On 2001-2004 6.6L (LB7) engines, the fuel rail pressure regulator connector is part of the main engine harness.

If a repair to the fuel rail pressure regulator connector on a 2001-2004 6.6L ( LB7) engine is needed, order the fuel injection pump jumper harness (P/N 97327685). On 2004 6.6L (LLY) engines, there is a short jumper harness that goes between the main engine harness and the fuel rail pressure regulator. To repair the fuel rail pressure regulator connector on a 6.6L (LB7) order the LLY jumper harness (P/N 97327685).

1. Cut the replacement "LLY" regulator connector wires leaving enough wire length to use it like a wiring repair pigtail.
2. Splice it onto the existing 6.6L (LB7) engine harness using proper SI wiring repair methods. Be sure to leave as much of the metal EMI shielding on the modified harness as possible.

Note: Duramax parts are direct ship from the suppliers. Upon initial ordering, it may appear as out of stock. Continue with the ordering process and put a SPAC case on the order if necessary.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
