In rare cases, some customers may comment that the shift lever unintentionally moves to the neutral position.. This usually occurs while driving on irregular road surfaces or off-road.
Replace the shift shaft detent plunger following the installation instructions provided with the part. Two service kits have been released for this condition. Kit 1, P/N 19132912, has a spring load of 240/300 N. Kit 2, P/N 19132915, has a spring load of 327/400 N.
Install kit 1 first. Only if condition persists, then install kit 2. Driver usage of vehicle determines the transmission spring stiffness needs. This sequence should be followed to prevent over correction, since the higher spring load will increase shift efforts.
