The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Concern of the replacement clutch pressure plate assembly contacts the bell housing about the 9 o'clock position causing a rubbing noise inside of the bell housing.
The concern can be repaired by using a die-grinder or similar tool to clearance the high portion of the current bell housing. Dealer can also replace the bell housing with a new design that has been updated to provide an increased clearance to accept the replacement clutch assembly. The updated bell housing is currently available through GM parts.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
