Removal Procedure
  1. Remove both front axle shafts from the front axle housing. Refer to Front Axle Shaft Replacement .
  2. Remove the differential from the front axle housing. Refer to Differential Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 1527011 Size: SH
  3. Install a pry bar (2) through the hole in the axle seal (1) and push the bar to dislodge the axle seal from the front axle housing.

    4. Object Number: 1527012 Size: SH
  4. Remove the axle shafts seals (1) from the front axle housing.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1527013 Size: SH
  1. Install the axle shafts seals (1) into the front axle housing (2).

    2. Object Number: 1527014 Size: SH
  2. Use a suitable seal driver (1) to seat the axle seal into the axle housing (2).

    3. Object Number: 1527015 Size: SH
  3. Make sure the axle seal seals (1) are installed straight not cocked in the bore.
  4. Coat the lips of the axle shaft seals with high temperature wheel bearing grease.
  5. Install the differential into the front axle housing. Refer to Differential Replacement .
  6. Install both front axle shafts into the front axle housing. Refer to Front Axle Shaft Replacement .
