Correction

DEFINITION: A noise is present when the vehicle turns.

The differential side gears and the pinion gears are worn.

Replace the worn parts.

    • For Dana® Model 286 axle, refer to Differential Overhaul .
    • For Spicer Eaton axles, call 1-800-TCM-HELP.
    • For Meritor axles, call 1-800-535-5560.

The differential spider is worn.

Replace the worn parts.

    • For Dana® Model 286 axle, refer to Differential Overhaul .
    • For Spicer Eaton axles, call 1-800-TCM-HELP.
    • For Meritor axles, call 1-800-535-5560.

The rear axle shaft splines are worn.

Replace the rear axle shafts. Refer to Rear Axle Shaft and/or Gasket Replacement .
