Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.
  2. Remove the I/P carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

  3. Object Number: 769280  Size: SH
  4. Remove the windshield defrost duct retaining screws at the heater case.
  5. Remove the windshield defrost duct retaining nuts at the cowl.
  6. Remove the windshield defrost duct (5) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 769280  Size: SH
  1. Install the windshield defrost duct (5) to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the windshield defrost duct retaining nuts to the cowl.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  5. Install the windshield defrost duct retaining screws to the heater case.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  7. Install the I/P carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  8. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.
