Cooling Fan Pulley Replacement 6.6L (LB7) Engine
Removal Procedure
- Remove the air cleaner layer. Refer to the appropriate procedure:
- Remove the fan and clutch assembly. Refer to
Fan Replacement
.
- Remove the bolts (3) from the cooling fan pulley (2).
- Remove the cooling fan pulley.
Installation Procedure
- Install the cooling fan pulley.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolts (3) to the cooling fan pulley (2).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).
- Install the fan and clutch assembly. Refer to
Fan Replacement
.
- Install the air cleaner layer. Refer to the appropriate procedure:

Removal Procedure
- Remove the fan clutch. Refer to
Fan Clutch Replacement
.
- Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the fan pulley bolts/nuts.
- Remove the fan pulley.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the fan pulley.
- Install the fan pulley bolts/nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts/nuts to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).
- Connect the CMP sensor electrical connector
(1).
- Install the fan clutch. Refer to
