Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cables from both batteries.
  2. Remove the fuel tank cap.
  3. Remove air cleaner layer. Refer to Air Cleaner Replacement .
  4. Disconnect the following engine harness connectors:
  5. • The coolant temperature sensor connector
    • The left front injector harness connector
  6. Remove the harness tie downs over the fuel injection control module (FICM) and move the harness aside.
  7. Remove the fuel line from the end of the right fuel rail.
  8. Remove the other end connected to the front of the junction block.
  9. Slide the line out the right side of the engine.

Installation Procedure

  1. Slide the new fuel line in from the right side.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Connect one end of the crossover pipe to the junction block and the other to the right fuel rail.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten both ends of the crossover pipe to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  5. Move the harness back over the FICM and reconnect temperature sensor and left front injector harness connector.
  6. Connect tie downs.
  7. Install air cleaner layer. Refer to Air Cleaner Replacement .
  8. Replace the fuel tank cap.
  9. Connect the negative battery cables to both batteries.
  10. Check for fuel leaks. Refer to Fuel System Diagnosis .
