Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 799722 Size: SH

Important: Take care when handling the mass air flow (MAF). Do Not dent, puncture, or otherwise damage the honey well located at the air inlet end of the MAF. Do Not touch the sensing elements or allow anything, including solvents and lubricants, to come in contact with them. A small amount of GM Lubricant P/N 99855406 may be used on the air duct only to aid in installation. Do Not drop or roughly handle the MAF.

Important: Do not remove any constant tension clamp retaining a bellow to an air cleaner elbow. Once a constant tension clamp is removed the integrity of the clamp is damaged . The sealing joint between a bellow and the air cleaner bellow should not be broken . Once this joint is broken, the air cleaner duct assembly must be replaced.

  1. Remove the clamps from the air cleaner bellow to the air cleaner assembly.
  2. Remove the clamps from the inlet scoop ,and the air cleaner bellow.
  3. Remove the air cleaner duct assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 799722 Size: SH
  1. Install the air cleaner duct assembly on the vehicle.
  2. Install the clamps to the air cleaner duct bellow and the air inlet scoop.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the clamps to the inlet scoop.
  5. Tighten the clamps.
  6. Tighten
Tighten all clamp screws to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).
