Auxiliary Air Tank Replacement C4500 C5500

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the air reservoir.
  2. Disconnect the auxiliary air compressor electrical connector at the auxiliary air compressor reservoir.
  3. Disconnect the auxiliary air compressor air lines at the auxiliary air compressor reservoir.

  4. Object Number: 807277  Size: SH
  5. Remove the 4 nuts and the auxiliary air compressor reservoir from the step rail.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 807277  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the auxiliary air compressor reservoir to the step rail with 4 nuts.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the 4 nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  3. Connect the auxiliary air compressor air lines .
  4. Connect the auxiliary air compressor electrical connectors.
