Heater Outlet Hose Replacement L18, LG4, LG5

Tools Required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure

  1. Partially drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  2. Remove the air cleaner layer. Refer to the appropriate procedure:
  3. •  Air Cleaner Replacement in Engine Controls-8.1L.
    •  Air Cleaner Replacement in Engine Controls-7.8L.

  4. Remove the right wheelhouse panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
  5. Remove the heater hose clamps using the J 38185 .
  6. Remove the heater hose from the retainer.
  7. Remove the outlet heater hose.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the outlet heater hose.
  2. Install the heater hose to the retainer.
  3. Install the heater hose clamps using the J 38185 .
  4. Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  5. Install the air cleaner layer. Refer to the appropriate procedure:
  6. •  Air Cleaner Replacement in Engine Controls-8.1L.
    •  Air Cleaner Replacement in Engine Controls-7.8L.

  7. Install the right wheelhouse panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement in Body Front End.

Heater Outlet Hose Replacement LB7

Tools Required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure

  1. Partially drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  2. Remove the air cleaner layer. Refer to Air Cleaner Replacement in Engine Controls-6.6L.
  3. Remove the right wheelhouse panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
  4. Remove the heater hose clamps using the J 38185 .
  5. Remove the outlet heater hose from the outlet radiator hose connection.
  6. Remove the outlet heater hose from the heater core outlet.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the outlet heater hose to the heater core outlet.
  2. Install the outlet heater hose to the outlet radiator hose connection.
  3. Install the heater hose clamps using the J 38185 .
  4. Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  5. Install the air cleaner layer. Refer to Air Cleaner Replacement in Engine Controls-6.6L.
  6. Install the right wheelhouse panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
