J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

1. Drain the coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .



2. Remove the radiator outlet hose clamp (3) from the surge tank using J 38185 .
3. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the surge tank.



4. Remove the radiator surge tank hose. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose/Pipe Replacement .
5. Remove the surge tank overflow hose and the clamp.
6. Disconnect the coolant level sensor electrical connector.



7. Remove the radiator surge tank nuts (1).
8. Remove the radiator surge tank bolt (4)
9. Remove the radiator surge tank cap (3).
10. Remove the radiator surge tank from the mounting bracket.
11. Inspect the radiator surge tank mounting bracket for cracks. Replace the mounting bracket if damaged.

1. Install the radiator surge tank to the mounting bracket.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

2. Install the radiator surge tank bolt (4) and nuts (1).

Tighten
Tighten the bolt and nuts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

3. Connect the coolant level sensor electrical connector.



4. Install the radiator surge tank hose. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose/Pipe Replacement .
5. Install the radiator surge tank overflow hose and the clamp.



6. Install the radiator outlet hose (2) to the surge tank.
7. Install the lower radiator hose clamp (3) to the surge tank using J 38185 .
8. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
9. Inspect the system for leaks.
