Rear Brake Hose Replacement Axle

Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution in the Preface section.

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 208913  Size: SH
  1. Remove the brake hose from the chassis brake pipe.

  2. Object Number: 208909  Size: SH
  3. Remove the retainer.
  4. Remove the brake pipe.
  5. Plug or cap the brake pipe.
  6. Remove the bracket mounting bolts.
  7. Remove the brake hose from the caliper.
  8. Remove the brake hose mounting bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 208909  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the brake hose mounting bracket.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the mounting bolts to 32 N·m (24 lb ft).

  3. Install the brake pipes.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the brake pipe fittings to 19 N·m (14 lb ft).

  5. Install the brake hose through the frame bracket.
  6. Connect the fitting to the brake hose.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the fitting to 19 N·m (14 lb ft).

  8. Install the retainer.
  9. Bleed the brakes. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .

Rear Brake Hose Replacement Non-GZT/GPG

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1509783  Size: SH
  1. Remove the brake hose from the chassis brake pipe.
  2. Remove the retainers and straps, as needed.
  3. Remove the brake pipe.
  4. Plug or cap the brake pipe.
  5. Remove the bracket mounting bolts.
  6. Remove the brake hose from the caliper.
  7. Remove the brake hose mounting bracket.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1509783  Size: SH
  1. Install the brake hose mounting bracket to frame.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the mounting bolts to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).

  3. Install the brake pipes to caliper.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the brake pipe fittings to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).

  5. Install the retainer and tie straps, as needed.
  6. Bleed the brakes. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .

Rear Brake Hose Replacement GZT/GPG

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the brake hose from the chassis brake pipe.
  2. Remove the retainers and straps, as needed.
  3. Remove the brake pipe from the caliper.
  4. Plug or cap the brake pipe and caliper
  5. Remove the bracket mounting bolts.
  6. Remove the brake hose from the caliper.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1509780  Size: SH
  1. Install the brake hose mounting bracket to frame.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the mounting bolts to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).

  3. Install the brake pipes to caliper.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the brake pipe fittings to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).

  5. Install the retainers and tie straps, as needed.
  6. Bleed the brakes. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
