    • J 44725 Gear Pack Assembly Fixture
    • J 44746 Mainshaft/Input Shaft Bearing Race Installer

    Important: Certain transmission components require preheating to 150°C (300°F). In order to preheat the components, use an electric oven. It is recommended to purchase a roaster/oven style locally. The oven should have a temperature setting thermostat.

  1. Position the input shaft on the J 44725  (3).
  2. Install the input shaft oil deflector using the J 8092  (1) and the J 44746  (2). The J 44746 has an area for installing the oil deflector.
  3. Ensure the oil deflector is fully and squarely seated.

  5. Preheat the input shaft bearing to 150°C (300°F) for 30 minutes in an electric oven.
  6. Caution: When handling parts that have been preheated for installation purposes, always wear leather welding gloves with a minimum amount of handling time. Failure to wear leather gloves may result in severe skin burns or personal injury.

  7. Wearing protective gloves, install the input shaft bearing on the input shaft. Rotate the bearing in order to seat it fully and squarely.
  8. Allow the bearings to cool before further installation of the input shaft.
