Auxiliary Generator Replacement LLY/LMM
Removal Procedure
Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing
any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to
the vehicle or its components.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
.
- Remove the air cleaner. Refer to
Air Cleaner Replacement
for the LLY engine or to
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
for the LMM engine.
- Remove the drive belt. Refer to
Drive Belt Replacement
.
- Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the generator.
- Reposition the engine wiring harness boot (8).
- Remove the generator terminal nut (9).
- Remove the engine wring harness terminal (10) from the generator.
- Remove the auxiliary generator bolts (3).
- Remove the auxiliary generator (2).
Installation Procedure
- Install the auxiliary generator (2).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the auxiliary generator bolts (3).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
- Install the engine wring harness terminal (10) to the generator.
- Install the generator terminal nut (9).
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Position the engine wiring harness boot (8).
- Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the generator.
- Install the drive belt. Refer to
Drive Belt Replacement
.
- Install the air cleaner. Refer to
Air Cleaner Replacement
for the LLY engine or to
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
for the LMM engine.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
