Removal Procedure
  1. Drain the Coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.

    2. Object Number: 1986992 Size: SH
  2. Remove the band clip.

    3. Object Number: 1986973 Size: SH
  3. Remove the hose (5) from the EGR cooler water return pipe.
  4. Remove the EGR cooler water return pipe clip (6) I bolt.
  5. Remove the EGR cooler water return pipe bolt (9) and remove the EGR cooler water return pipe (7).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1986973 Size: SH
  1. Position the EGR cooler water return pipe (7) into the clip (6).

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Align the EGR cooler water return pipe (7) and install the EGR cooler water return pipe bolt.

    3. Tighten

        • Tighten the EGR cooler water return pipe bolt (9) to 25 N·m (18 lb  ft).
        • Tighten the I bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
  3. Install the EGR cooler water pipe to EGR cooler hose (5).

    4. Object Number: 1986992 Size: SH
  4. Install the band clip.
  5. Drain the Coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
  6. Check for coolant system leaks.
