Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement w/CTF
Removal Procedure
- Remove the engine cover. Refer to
Engine Cover Replacement
.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
.
- Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe from the EGR adapter and the reservoir. Refer

.
- Remove the power steering pipe clamp nuts and clamps at the valve rocker cover and the intake manifold.
- Reposition the power steering hoses.
- Remove the vent hose from the valve rocker cover and retainer.
- Clean the area around the valve rocker cover to the head cover mating surface.
- Remove the valve rocker arm cover bolts.
- Remove the valve rocker arm cover and gasket.
Installation Procedure
- Install the valve rocker arm cover and gasket.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the valve rocker arm cover bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the valve rocker arm cover bolts to 13 N·m (113 lb in).
- Install the vent hose to the valve rocker cover and retainer.
- Install the EGR pipe to the EGR adapter and the reservoir. Refer

- Reposition the power steering hoses.
- Install the power steering hose clamps and fasteners to the valve rocker cover and the intake manifold.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
.
- Install the engine cover. Refer to
Engine Cover Replacement
.
