Tools Required

    • J 8614-01 Flange and Pulley Holding Tool
    • J 37668-A Output Shaft Seal Installer

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the front propeller shaft. Refer to Front Propeller Shaft Replacement .

    2. Object Number: 1403901 Size: SH
  2. Remove the front output flange nut.

    3. Object Number: 1403903 Size: SH
  3. Using the J 8614-01 , remove the front output flange.

    4. Notice: Refer to Transfer Case Seal Removal Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1403905 Size: SH
  4. Remove the front output seal.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1456818 Size: SH
  1. Using the J 37668-A , install the front output seal in the transfer case.

    2. Object Number: 1456821 Size: SH
  2. Install the front output flange.
  3. Install the J 8614-01 to the front output flange for support.

    4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the front output flange nut.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the front output flange nut to 224 N·m (165 lb ft).

  5. Install the front propeller shaft. Refer to Front Propeller Shaft Replacement .
