J-46594 Fuel Injector Puller

1. Remove the left side fuel injectors. Refer to Fuel Injector Replacement .
2. Rotate the electrical connector lever locks (1) rearward.
3. Disconnect the vehicle's engine wiring harness main electrical connectors (2) from the engine wiring harness main electrical connectors.
4. Remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose/pipe. Refer to Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose/Pipe/Tube Replacement .
5. Remove the auxiliary generator, if equipped. Refer to Auxiliary Generator Replacement .



6. Remove the upper valve rocker arm cover bolts.
7. Remove the upper valve rocker arm cover.
8. Remove the upper valve rocker arm cover gasket.
9. Inspect the upper valve rocker arm cover gasket for damage, replace if necessary. Otherwise reuse the old gasket.

1. Install the valve rocker arm cover gasket.
2. Install the upper valve rocker arm cover.
3. Install the upper valve rocker arm cover bolts.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.




4. Tighten the upper valve rocker arm cover bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

5. Install the auxiliary generator, if equipped. Refer to Auxiliary Generator Replacement .
6. Connect the negative battery cables. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .



7. Rotate the electrical connector lever locks (1) rearward.
8. Disconnect the vehicle's engine wiring harness main electrical connectors (2) from the engine wiring harness main electrical connectors.
9. Install the left side fuel injectors. Refer to Fuel Injector Replacement .
