Engine Front Mount Replacement C6500/C7500/C8500

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle with safety stands. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Support the engine using suitable safety stands.
  3. Disconnect any engine harness clips or line routing on the engine mount.
  4. Use a suitable engine hoist to lift weight off the engine mounts.
  5. Remove the engine mount brackets off of the mounts. Refer to Engine Mount Bracket Replacement - Left Side and Engine Mount Bracket Replacement - Right Side .

  6. Object Number: 816287  Size: SH
  7. Remove the engine front mount C channel to frame bolts.
  8. Remove the engine front mount and outer frame mount from frame.

  9. Object Number: 816300  Size: SH
  10. Remove the engine front mount assembly from the C channel bracket bracket.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 816300  Size: SH
  1. Install the engine front mount to the C channel bracket.
  2. Install the engine front mount to C channel bracket bolts.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the engine front mount to C channel bolts to 160 N·m (118 lb ft).

  4. Install the engine front mount and C channel assembly to frame.
  5. Install the engine front mount C channel to frame bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the engine front mount C channel to frame bolts to 100 N·m (74 lb ft).

  7. Install the engine front mount bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Bracket Replacement - Left Side and Engine Mount Bracket Replacement - Right Side .
  8. Lower the engine on to the mounts
  9. Install the engine mount brackets to engine mounts.

  10. Object Number: 816298  Size: SH
  11. Install the engine mount bracket to engine mount bolts.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the engine front mount bracket-to-engine mount bolts to 240 N·m (178 lb ft).

  13. Install any engine harness clips or lines routing on the engine mount bracket.
  14. Remove the engine safety stands and engine hoist.
  15. Lower the vehicle.

Engine Front Mount Replacement C4500/C5500

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle with safety stands. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Support the engine using suitable safety stands.
  3. Disconnect any engine harness clips or line routing on the engine mount.
  4. Use a suitable engine hoist to lift weight off the engine mounts.
  5. Remove the engine mount brackets off of the mounts. Refer to Engine Mount Bracket Replacement - Left Side and Engine Mount Bracket Replacement - Right Side .

  7. Remove the engine front mount C channel to frame bolts.
  8. Remove the engine front mount and outer frame mount from frame.

  10. Remove the engine front mount assembly from the C channel bracket bracket.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the engine front mount to the C channel bracket.
  2. Install the engine front mount to C channel bracket bolts.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the engine front mount to C channel bolts to 160 N·m (118 lb ft).
