J 42640 Steering Column Anti-Rotation Pin
Notice: The wheels of the vehicle must be straight ahead and the steering column in the LOCK position before disconnecting the steering column or intermediate shaft from the steering gear. Failure to do so will cause the SIR coil assembly to become uncentered, which may cause damage to the coil assembly.
Important: The intermediate shaft retaining bolt contains an epoxy patch. When the intermediate shaft retaining bolt is removed it must be replaced or apply Loctite 272 GM P/N 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) or equivalent to the threads of the bolt.
Install the intermediate shaft to the steering gear stub shaft.

Important: The intermediate shaft retaining bolt contains an epoxy patch. When the intermediate shaft retaining bolt is removed it must be replaced or apply Loctite 272 GM P/N 12345493 (Canadian P/N 1093488) or equivalent to the threads of the bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the intermediate shaft retaining bolt to the steering gear stub shaft to 61 N·m (45 lb ft).
Important: Make sure the upper cover to the steering column is inside the intermediate shaft cover.
Tighten
Tighten the intermediate shaft bolt to the steering column to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).
