Power Steering Gear Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement LB7, L18 w/ Hydromax

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 826199  Size: SH

    Notice: Do not start the vehicle with any power steering gear inlet or outlet hoses disconnected. When disconnected, plug or cap all openings of components. Failure to do so could result in contamination or loss of power steering fluid and damage to the system.

  1. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
  2. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose from the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Hose Quick Connect Fitting .
  3. Remove the clips and isolators holding the power steering gear inlet hose to the frame.

  4. Object Number: 826179  Size: SH
  5. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose from the power steering gear. Refer to Power Steering Hose Quick Connect Fitting .
  6. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 826179  Size: SH

    Notice: The inlet and outlet hoses must not be twisted during installation. Do not bend or distort the inlet or outlet hoses to make installation easier. Failure to follow these procedures could result in component damage.

  1. Route the hose in the same position the hose occupied prior to removal.
  2. Install the power steering gear inlet hose to the power steering gear. Refer to Power Steering Hose Quick Connect Fitting .
  3. Install the clips and isolators holding the power steering gear inlet hose to the frame.

  4. Object Number: 826199  Size: SH
  5. Install the power steering gear inlet hose to the power steering pump outlet . Refer to Power Steering Hose Quick Connect Fitting .
  6. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
  7. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 826197  Size: MH

    Notice: Do not start the vehicle with any power steering gear inlet or outlet hoses disconnected. When disconnected, plug or cap all openings of components. Failure to do so could result in contamination or loss of power steering fluid and damage to the system.

  1. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
  2. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose from the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Hose Quick Connect Fitting .

  3. Object Number: 826195  Size: MH
  4. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose from the engine brackets. Refer to Power Steering Hose Quick Connect Fitting .

  5. Object Number: 826179  Size: SH
  6. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose from the power steering gear. Refer to Power Steering Hose Quick Connect Fitting .
  7. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  6. Install the power steering gear inlet hose to the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Hose Quick Connect Fitting .
  7. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
  8. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Removal Procedure

    Notice: Do not start the vehicle with any power steering gear inlet or outlet hoses disconnected. When disconnected, plug or cap all openings of components. Failure to do so could result in contamination or loss of power steering fluid and damage to the system.

  1. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
  2. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose from the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Hose Quick Connect Fitting .

  4. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose from the power steering gear. Refer to Power Steering Hose Quick Connect Fitting .
  5. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose from the vehicle.
