Removal Procedure
- Block the wheels.
- Drain all of the air reservoirs. Refer to
Air Brake Reservoir Draining.
- Lift the inner fender panel.
- Mark the air lines and connections in order to aid in installation.
- Remove the wiring harness connector from the stop lamp switch.
- Remove the air lines from the dual application valve.
Line fittings are attached to the dual application valve. You can NOT remove these fittings from the dual application valve. Replace the dual application valve as an assembly.
- Remove the dual application valve mounting nuts.
- Remove the brake pushrod from the pedal assembly.
- Remove the dual application valve.
- Inspect the air lines for the followings:
- Repair or replace the air lines, as necessary.
Installation Procedure
- Install the dual application valve.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the dual application valve mounting nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the dual application mounting nuts to 40 N·m (29 lb ft).
- Install the pushrod to the pedal assembly.
- Install the air lines to the dual application valve.
- Inspect the brake pedal end play. Refer to
Air Brake Pedal Replacement.
- Perform the air leakage test. Refer to
Air Brake Application Valve Leakage Test.
- Perform the operational test. Refer to
Air Brake Application Valve Operational Check.
