Removal Procedure

  1. Block the wheels.
  2. Drain all of the air reservoirs. Refer to Air Brake Reservoir Draining.
  3. Note: Tag and label the air lines for the installation procedure.

  4. Remove the air lines from the park control valve. Refer to Hose and Line Replacement - Nylon Push-In Type Fitting.
  5. Remove the pins.
  6. Remove the knobs.
  7. Remove the parking control valve bolt/screw.
  8. Remove the parking control valve.
  9. Inspect the air lines for the following conditions:
  10. • Damage
    • Kinks
    • Wear
  11. Repair or replace any damaged, kinked, or worn air lines.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the parking control valve.
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the parking control valve nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the parking control valve bolt/screw to 3 N·m (30 lb in).

  5. Install the knobs.
  6. Install the pins.
  7. Install the air lines to the parking control valve. Refer to Hose and Line Replacement - Nylon Push-In Type Fitting.
  8. Perform the air leakage test. Refer to Trailer Brake Control Valve Leakage Test.
  9. Perform the operational test. Refer to Trailer Brake Control Valve Operational Check.
  10. Remove the wheel blocks.
