Rear Disc Brake Pads Replacement TRW Pin Slider

Warning: Refer to Brake Dust Warning in the Preface section.

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove 2/3 of the brake fluid from the master cylinder.
  2. Caution: Refer to Brake Caliper Supporting to Prevent Hose Damage Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Remove the brake caliper (5). Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement.
  4. Note: Do not remove the flexible brake hose from the caliper.

  5. Remove the inner and outer brake pad from the caliper mounting plate.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1555767  Size: SH
  1. Install the inner brake pad onto the brake caliper mounting plate.
  2. Install the outer brake pad to the brake caliper mounting plate.

  3. Install the brake caliper Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement.
  4. Pump the brake pedal several times until the pedal is firm and the disc brake pads are seated.
  5. Inspect the brake fluid level in the master cylinder. Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling.

Rear Disc Brake Pads Replacement Dayton-Walther Fixed Mount

Warning: Refer to Brake Dust Warning in the Preface section.

Removal Procedure

    Note: Do not empty the reservoir.

  1. Remove approximately 2/3 of the brake fluid in the master cylinder reservoir.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle with safety stands. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  3. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  4. Note: The disc brake caliper does NOT need to be removed in order to remove and install the disc brake pads.

  5. Remove the brake pad retainer spring bolt.
  6. Remove the brake pad retainer spring.
  7. Using a suitable tool, lever between the disc brake pad and the rotor in order to compress the caliper pistons into the bores.
  8. Remove the rear inboard disc brake pad by lifting the disc brake pad straight up.
  9. Remove the rear outboard disc brake pad by lifting the disc brake pad straight up.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 200274  Size: SH
  1. Install the new inboard rear brake pad to the caliper.
  2. Install the new outboard rear brake pad to the caliper.
  3. Install the brake pad retainer spring to the boss in the disc brake caliper.
  4. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  5. Install the brake pad retainer spring bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the brake pad retainer spring bolt to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

    Note: Inspect the fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir after pumping the brake pedal.

  7. Pump the brake pedal several times in order to ensure that the pedal is firm and the brake linings are seated.
  8. Inspect the brake fluid level in the master cylinder. Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling.
  9. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
