Models: | 2003-2004 Chevrolet Kodiak C4500-C8500 Series |
2003-2004 GMC Topkick C4500-C8500 Series |
with Driver or Passenger High Back Bucket Seat (RPO AS4 or AE1) |
Some customers may comment on insufficient driver or passenger seat travel. This condition is more prevalent when the occupant is of taller stature.
On each of the bucket seat adjuster tracks there is a secondary restrictor bolt that can be removed to give the seat (driver or passenger) additional travel rearward. The restrictor bolt to be removed is the rear one and the front restrictor bolt must be left in. Remove both rear restrictor bolts from each adjuster of the seat or the seat will stop uneven. Use the procedure listed below.
Important: Please advise the customer that due to this increased seat travel, the seat back may contact the rear window on regular cab models.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
Please advise the customer that the cost associated with this procedure will not be covered under the vehicle's warranty.
