Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 741991  Size: SH
  1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  2. Remove the drive belt idler pulley bolt at the power steering pump, if necessary.
  3. Remove the drive belt idler pulley from the power steering pump, if necessary.

  4. Object Number: 742960  Size: SH
  5. Remove the idler pulley shield.
  6. If equipped with air conditioning (A/C), remove the drive belt idler pulley bolt at the generator bracket, if necessary.
  7. Remove the drive belt idler pulley from the generator bracket, if necessary.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 742960  Size: SH
  1. Install the drive belt idler pulley to the generator bracket, if necessary.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. If equipped with A/C, install the drive belt idler pulley bolt at the generator bracket, if necessary.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten drive belt idler pulley bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the idler pulley shield.

  6. Object Number: 741991  Size: SH
  7. Install the drive belt idler pulley to the power steering pump, if necessary.
  8. Install the drive belt idler pulley bolt at the power steering pump, if necessary.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten drive belt idler pulley bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  10. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
