Fuel Pump Replacement 15 Gallon Tank

1. Loosen the fuel fill cap to relieve the fuel system pressure.
2. Disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector (1).



3. Clean the fuel pipe connections and surrounding areas at the pump before disconnecting to avoid possible fuel system contamination.
4. Disconnect the fuel pipes from the pump.



5. Slide the pump out of the bracket.
6. Cap the fuel pipes.

1. Remove the caps from the fuel pipes.
2. Install the NEW fuel pipe O-rings.
3. Position the new pump in the pump bracket.




Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

4. Connect the fuel pipes to the fuel pump. Use a backup wrench to prevent the pump from turning.

Tighten
Tighten the fittings to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).




5. Connect the fuel pump electrical connector (1).
6. Install the fuel fill cap.
7. Start the engine and inspect for leaks.
