Shift Cable Replacement Steering Column

1. Engage the park brake.
2. Make sure the ignition is in the OFF position.
3. Remove the clips securing the shift cable to the transmission.



4. Remove the cotter pin and the clevis pin securing the clevis to the transmission shift lever.
5. If required, remove the shift cable retainer straps from the transmission filler tube.



6. Remove the shift cable from the steering column.
7. Remove the shift cable from the vehicle.

1. Install the shift cable to the vehicle.



2. Install the clevis to shift cable clevis on the steering column.



3. Install the shift cable clevis on the transmission shift lever with the washer and cotter pin.
4. Install the clips in order to secure the shift cable to the transmission.
5. Start the engine.
6. Test the shift operation of the transmission.
7. Install the shift cable retainer straps to the transmission filler tube as required.
